ALUMINUM GRIFFIN RADIATOR REVIEW

I spent a lot of time looking for a good quality aluminum radiator for my dads old chevelle and they were all crazy expensive. I saw this Griffin and thought i'd give it a try for it was the least expensive and the name is pretty well known.

The only complaint that I could possibly have is that the core is installed using epoxy. Otherwise it was a pleasent experience dealing with them over the phone and the radiator I bought was an excellent fit. Highly reccomend them.

Needed a radiator for my '69 Camaro build so I got what Griffin recommended to me. After several years of running hot I finally noticed that the core size was 3" smaller than B Cools for the same application. Called Griffin and was told that I had the right one?? Yeah, right. Got the B Cool and never a problem since.

Griffin is the worst radiator company. Had to ship 1 order 3 times because they got it wrong. Made me pay for shipping each time like it was my fault. Talked to a manager, said would call back and never did. Left message after message and still no reply. They know the F%$# ed up big time and would not own up to it. BUYER BEWARE...

Ordered a radiator for a 1938 Ford Pick-up. They messed up the order 3 times. It was a phone order so everything was explained for the specifics. They charged me for the shipping each time. Customer Service is very poor (Horrible). No instructions were included, so installed, only drove for about 200 miles, then radiator gave out. Found out it was rusted. Told them and said it should\'ve been grounded??? Told them never included instructions and talked to about 4 people, and manager, and wouldn\'t do a thing. They messed up 3 orders, and there is no consideration. DO NOT BUY FROM GRIFFIN UNLESS YOU WANT A BAD RADIATOR AND EXPERIENCE...

These radiators are handmade in the usa and good for classics and American cars so that’s why I trust them. I heard aluminum radiators don’t leak like stock plastic ones so I went and ordered one. Kind of expensive but it looks good in my Mustang so that’s all worth it to me.

I have put a lot of time into searching for a good aluminum radiator and I settled on this one.  Next time I’ll do even more research. This one was more expensive than the others that I was considering, so I figured I would get my money’s worth and do it right if I was going to spend the money. It took a pretty long time to ship (Longer than I expected, at least) and when it showed up there was no radiator cap. Which is not the worst thing in the world but still, for the money I spent, I expected the best and I didn’t really get it. It was a tight fit to slide the radiator into the lower mounts but once I had it in place everything else went smoothly. Since then it’s been good, it did improve cooling dramatically, I noticed a difference right away. My only real issue was with customer service…I called them a few times about different things and they weren’t all that helpful. So, overall I’m happy with the quality of the radiator but there are a few minor things they could still improve on.

Griffin is a great radiator but you will pay for it. Don’t expect a deal. But I have one and have a few buddies who use it. Never had any problems so far. Pros: Nice and sturdy, good fitment, nice looking welds. Cons: Price. Just so you know I drive it every day and on the drag strip every once in a while. I’d say go for it if you’re willing to pay for it.
